Course Overview
Physics for Beginners is a carefully structured, engaging online programme designed for students who are new to Physics or struggling with the fundamentals. The course takes students step-by-step from basic concepts to practical applications, using clear explanations, visual illustrations, guided examples and interactive problem-solving. Students will develop a solid understanding of essential Physics concepts, including: - Physical Quantities & Measurement β€” SI units, measuring instruments, accuracy and basic calculations. - Motion & Mechanics β€” distance, displacement, speed, velocity, acceleration and motion graphs. - Forces & Newton’s Laws β€” understanding forces, mass, weight, friction and their real-life applications. - Work, Energy & Power β€” how energy is transferred, transformed and used in everyday systems. - Density, Pressure & Upthrust β€” understanding why objects float, sink and experience pressure. - Heat & Temperature β€” thermal expansion and the mechanisms of heat transfer. - Waves & Sound β€” wave properties, sound production and everyday applications. - Light β€” reflection, refraction, mirrors, lenses and optical applications. - Electricity β€” current, voltage, resistance, circuits and Ohm’s Law. - Magnetism & Electromagnetism β€” fundamental magnetic principles and their applications. Students will learn how to: 1. Understand why physical phenomena occur rather than simply memorising formulas. 2. Translate Physics concepts into mathematical expressions. 3. Solve numerical problems systematically and confidently. 4. Interpret diagrams, graphs, tables and experimental observations. 5. Apply Physics principles to real-life situations. 6. Approach examination questions with greater confidence. Lessons are designed to make Physics visual, relatable and engaging, connecting classroom concepts to everyday experiences, simple demonstrations and practical applications. Students will receive guided examples, class exercises, assignments, revision activities and examination-style questions to reinforce learning and track their progress. By the end of the programme, students should have a stronger conceptual and mathematical foundation in Physics, improved problem-solving ability and the confidence needed to progress to more advanced topics and examination preparation. Ideal for: Students beginning Physics, students who need to strengthen their fundamentals, and learners preparing to progress into WAEC, NECO, UTME, IGCSE or other secondary-school Physics programmes.
